I am always attracted to unique, unusual, unconventional watch design. For the first time when I saw NBS in photo image, it immediately triggered my curiosity to find out more about the watch made by DELTAt. Having met and chatted with David, the founder and designer for DELTAt watches during a trip to Hong Kong in September this year, it allowed me to have better understanding of his design concept and can feel his deep passion for watch designing down to the smallest details when creating NBS and other of DELTAt collections. I must said I am very impressed with his persistence and views on watch making.
When I first looked at the specs of NBS, I was intimated by the 66mm from lug to lug size as I have a boy wrist. However, when I received the watch and put it on, it really "WOW" me. Not only the watch sits nicely on my wrist, but it did not appear to be overly huge as I imagined. In fact, it was love at first sight.
Without going into the details of the full specs (as its available on its website), what I liked about NBS:
- One of its kind industrial-look heavy metal case with 3 functional hexagon screw locked bezel.
- Clean minimalist carbon fiber dial exposing the skeleton automatic movement, allowing a peek into the moving wheels of the established Miyota 8N24.
- Grey canvas straps with yellow inner essence within. Its also comes with a premium thick crazy horse black leather straps which looks fantastic on the wrist too.
What I think can be improved (Personal preference) :
- The hour & minutes hands can be more bold and thicker to fit the overall heavy metal case design. The lume area on its hands can also be expand slightly to balance up the wide index lume at 4, 8, 12 o'clock.
Overall, aesthetically, the watch speaks to me, and I feel great wearing it. NBS is not a watch which appeals to everyone, either you love it or hate it. By the way, NBS refers to "No Bull Shit". Kinda like the model name too. Now is available on https://www.advisorwatches.com/deltat
